Q. I have heard you say that we will know each other in heaven. Does this include our husband or wife and our children? Will we have spouses in heaven?
“For the married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband.”
“For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.”
Death “frees” both parties in the marital relationship. We have no “marriage” partners in heaven. There is no need for marriage in heaven, since we will no longer have the command to be “fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.”
Of course, our family members will always be dear to us. Those from our families who are with us in heaven will know, and be able to remember their earthly existence, but marital responsibilities will no longer exist.
