What separates your church from the Catholic Church?

Q. What separates your church from the Catholic Church? Who stablished your church? Can your church be traced to our Lord Jesus like, the Catholic Church? If Jesus honored his Mother and one of the Commandments is to honor father and mother why the non-catholics have a problem honorig (NO ADORING) the blessed Mother? If you can pray for me, why I cannot ask the Saints and the Virgin Mary to pray for me?

Here are a list of things that separate the Church of Christ from the Roman Catholic Church.

1. The Catholic Church accepts the Pope as head of the church. The Church of Christ accepts only Christ as the head of his church.

Col. 1:18, And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

2. The Catholic Church has unmarried bishops, the Church of Christ does not.

Titus 1:5, For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Elders and bishops are one and the same.

3. The Catholic Church teach:
a. original sin
b. baptize infants
c use sprinkling for baptism..The word Baptizo means a burial.
d. The doctrine of transubstantiation and many other things to numerous to list.

The Church of Christ teaches none of these things.

Christ established the Church of Christ, He purchased it with his own blood, therefore it is His and should bear His name.

Acts 20:28, Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

The Church of Christ can be traced back to Christ by following the trail of departures from the faith.

We are to honor our own parents, but never to worship them.

Eph. 6:1, Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

We have great respect for Mary the mother of Jesus, the same as we have great respect for other christians.

Matt.12:46, While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

We are told to pray for one another while we are living, but after we die we can pray for no one.

James 5:16, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Jesus Christ is our Mediator between us and God the Father, and we are to address our prayers to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, no one else.

Col 3:17, And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Gal 3:20, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

All christians are saints and as long as we live we are to pray for one another, but after we are dead we can pray for no one.

Acts 9:32, And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

Acts 9:41, And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Romans 15:25, But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.

Why do all churches claim to be the Church of Christ, but refuse to go by His name?
