Q. I hear certain T.V. evangelists encourage people to pray the “sinners prayer” and receive salvation. Is there anything like the “sinners prayer” taught in the New Testament?

NO! There is nothing in the New Testament anything like the so called “sinners prayer” often encouraged by those who believe that salvation comes by faith only. Prayer is the blessed communication between a child of God and his heavenly father, based on the mediatorship of Jesus Christ. It is for those who are already in the right relationship to the Father.

How can we know what is True in the Bible?

Q. How can we know for certain what is absolutely true in Bible teaching? Should we not just accept everyone, and not bind our views on others?

Q. Why are there so many things that the Bible does not condemn? The Bible DOES NOT say that it is wrong to eat communion on Thursday, it DOES NOT say that it is wrong to believe in salvation by belief only, it DOES NOT say that using instruments in worship is wrong. If all these things are wrong, why doesn’t the Bible say so? Why doesn’t the Bible simply give us a list of sins? (Scottsdale, Az.)

There are many things that the Bible DOES NOT talk about. The fact that the Bible does not talk about something does not make it right or wrong in and of itself.

There are things that are wrong even though the Bible does not explicitly condemn them. The word “Rape” is not found in the Bible, yet it is universally accepted as wrong. Abusing cocaine is not specifically condemned in the Bible, but is obviously wrong.

Let’s look at a Biblical example of how to determine what is right and what is wrong.
