9 Then the angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority.”
I know of NO Bible version which mentions Raphael in Genesis 16:9. “The Angel of the Lord” throughout the Old Testament is a reference to Jesus Christ, before he came in the flesh. There is a Spanish tradition that “Raphael” is one of the chief angles along with Michael and Gabrielle. This was a tradition brought by the Catholic tradition to the U.S. in the 1800’s. Just last week I was in a small community north of Santa Fe, NM., and saw an indian rug which depicted all three.
