How do pastors know what we were doing (reading our mind)? Is it scriptural?

No man is able to read your mind, if they try to tell you they can they are just not being honest. Some claim to be able to but it’s done by trickery.

1 Cor.2:11, For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,
NASB95

The apostle Paul states plainly here that no man knows what is in a persons mind except that person.

He says no man can know the mind of God unless God tells it. God did tell the apostles by the Holy Spirit what was on his mind and they preached it and wrote it down for us. Therefore the same applies to man. Unless you tell what is on your mind; no one can know. Just think what a great detective a person could be if he could read peoples mind.
