1 Peter 4:6 (NASB)
"For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God."
Notice carefully the wording of our text, the gospel has been preached to those who "are" dead, not to those who "were" dead. In other words, at the time the gospel was preached to these folks, they were alive.
There is no such thing as the gospel of the 2nd chance.
The scripture are clear:
HEB 9:27 (NASB)
"And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment . . ."
Notice very carefully he states empathetically that judgment comes after death. . . there is no second chance.
ROM 14:10 (NASB)
But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.
This is the judgment seat of Heb. 9:27.
2 Cor 5:10
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."
We will not receive a second chance.
